22-year-old Dhir Patel arrested in Miami. She is accused of stealing more than $41,550 worth of designer clothes from a luxury store over a period of months. He used to steal on the pretext of selling goods and was caught through CCTV footage.
The habit of theft of a 22 year old boy in Florida took a heavy toll on him. She is accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of designer clothes from a luxury store in Miami’s Wynwood area. The surprising thing is that he kept cleaning his hands again and again at the same shop for months.
According to Miami Police Department investigators, this man named Dhir Patel committed thefts from March 30 to last Monday. His method was very cunning. He used to come to the shop on the pretext of selling some goods and take cash in return. Meanwhile, he would secretly put expensive clothes in the bag he brought with him.
Initially his theft was not caught, because he used to buy some items from the shop to avoid suspicion. This did not make anyone doubt him. But when the shop owner noticed that several expensive designer items were mysteriously disappearing, he checked the surveillance footage.

Authorities estimate that Patel stole at least $41,550 worth of merchandise, although the actual loss may have been much greater. “Initially we thought $41,000 was stolen, but now that we’ve done the math, the figure is closer to $55,000 to $60,000,” store owner Luis Negrich told Local 10 News. He also said that due to Patel’s small purchases, his thefts were hidden and there was a delay in discovering the loss.
A Miami police arrest report said Patel, of Boynton Beach, liked the items while walking through the store. The report further said, “CCTV footage shows the accused hiding the clothes in the bag he brought with him.”
The whole ordeal came to an end on Saturday, when Patel once again returned to the shop to sell some items. Based on investigation, the police identified him and arrested him on serious charges of theft. Officials said Patel later confessed to the crime, although details of his confession have been redacted from public reports. Negrich gave a simple warning on the matter, “Just don’t steal. It’s simple. At the end of the day, you have to suffer the consequences of your bad deeds.” Patel was released from jail after posting $5,000 bond, according to court records.
