The ordeal of Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav
The biggest contest in the first phase is between India Alliance’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav and BJP’s Satish Kumar, who had defeated Tejashwi’s mother Rabri Devi in 2010. Tejashwi Yadav is in the fray with the intention of registering his third consecutive victory from Raghopur seat. Apart from this, Chanchal Singh of Prashant Kishor’s party Jan Suraj is also contesting from the same seat. At the same time, there is a multi-cornered contest on the seat of Tej Pratap Yadav. Tej Pratap has formed his new party Janashakti Janata Dal and he is contesting from Mahua seat. Current RJD MLA Mukesh Roshan is a big challenge for him. The entry of Sanjay Singh of LJP (Ram Vilas) and independent Ashma Parveen on this seat has made the contest fierce.

Mokama: Jailed JDU MLA Anant Singh is contesting against strongman Surajbhan Singh’s wife and RJD’s Veena Devi.
Chhapra: Bhojpuri star Khesari Lal Yadav is contesting the elections from RJD.
Kargahar: Bhojpuri singer Ritesh Pandey is the candidate of Jan Suraj Party.
Aliganj: Folk singer Maithili Thakur is contesting the elections on BJP ticket.

- Voting will be held on a total of 121 seats.
- Maximum 4.58 lakh voters are in Digha of Patna.
- The least number of 2.32 lakh voters are in Barbigha of Sheikhpura.
