On the date of 2nd November 2025, the success of the Indian women’s team, which has forever been remembered in the history of Indian cricket, is being celebrated across the country. The Indian team won the ICC Women’s World Cup title for the first time by defeating South Africa in the final in Navi Mumbai. After this historic achievement, Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and her team reached Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence to meet him, where they had a long discussion and the PM encouraged the team.
On Wednesday 5th November, World Champion Team India reached New Delhi and then reached the Prime Minister’s residence located at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. During this, all the 16 members of Team India were present and captain Harmanpreet had the World Cup trophy in his hand. Head coach Amol Majumdar and new BCCI President Mithun Manhas were also present with the team. Team India met and talked to the Indian team in the same hall where Rohit Sharma and his Team India met the PM after winning the T20 World Cup last year.
Team India gifted the PM a jersey with the name ‘Namo’ written on it, which had the names and signatures of all the players. The Prime Minister also looked happy with this special gift received from the team and also posed for a picture with the trophy. Modi praised the Indian team for its performance and such a huge achievement. During this, all-rounder Deepti Sharma, who was the Player of the Tournament, mentioned her meeting with Modi after the defeat in the 2017 World Cup final and told how the Prime Minister’s words at that time had boosted her morale.
Prime Minister Modi also mentioned Deepti’s Instagram bio and one of her tattoos. Actually, Deepti has written ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in the bio of her Instagram account, while she has a tattoo of Hanuman ji on her hand. After the mention of PM, Deepti told that she gets a lot of courage from both of them.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur also mentioned 2017 and said that then the team had met them without a trophy but now they would like to meet them after winning as many titles as possible. Not only this, when the Indian captain asked how the PM manages so many things in his time, Modi said that this has become a part and habit of his life. Not only this, when Team India’s young fast bowler Kranti Goud said that her brother is a big fan of the Prime Minister, PM Modi also invited her to his residence.
