Dirty and poor seat given to passenger, now Indigo Airline fined 1.5 lakh

Indigo flight

Delhi’s Consumer Forum has imposed a fine of Rs 1.5 lakh on Indigo Airlines. Foren found guilty of giving a dirty seat to a woman on the airline, after which the passenger has been asked to pay the amount as compensation to the company.

The New Delhi District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission was hearing a complaint filed towards a woman named Pinky, alleging that it was alleged that on January 2 this year, she was provided a “bad, dirty and tainted” seat during a visit to New Delhi from Baku to New Delhi this year. Pinky alleged that her complaint related to the case was “dismissed and insensitive”. However, on this, the airlines said that he took cognizance of Pinky’s problem and gave him a separate seat, on which he traveled voluntarily and completed his journey to New Delhi.

Forum assumed guilty

The forum recently said in its order that we believe that IndiGo is guilty of lack of service. Regarding the inconvenience, pain and mental anguish to the passenger, we believe that he should be compensated. We instruct IndiGo to give him a compensation of Rs 1.5 lakh for mental pain, physical pain and oppression. At the same time, Foren ordered to give Rs 25,000 to the victim.

The forum said in its order that the airlines did not submit the situation of the situation data display (SDD), which is part of their internal operation record and is necessary under the Standard Aviation Protocol. The forum said that IndiGo did not even mention this report in his written statement or evidence. SDD is an essential document, which is used to monitor flight operations and record passenger related events, due to non -availability of this document, the protection of IndiGo becomes very weak.
