A sensational case related to religious conversion and alleged physical abuse has come to light in Nashik. In this case, engineering student Tanjeer Inamdar has been accused of forcibly pressurizing his classmate to convert, giving her alcohol and exploiting her.

According to the police, the matter is of Panchvati police station area. The victim lodged a complaint alleging that the accused student physically abused her several times and constantly pressurized her for religious conversion. She also said that the accused threatened her and forced her at several places.
According to the victim, between June 2024 and January 2026, the accused molested her at places like Student Home in Pune, Garden behind Akash Petrol Pump, Pingale Dairy, Abhishek Sweet and Bhakti Inn Lodge in Nashik. It has been said in the complaint that the accused used to forcibly hug and do actions like biting on the neck.
Accused of giving alcohol and cigarettes
The victim alleged that the accused forced her to drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes several times. In January 2026, he took her to Bhakti Inn Lodge, located opposite the RTO office, where she was again allegedly made to drink alcohol and exploited.
Allegation of removing religious symbols and threatening
According to the complaint, the accused removed the Tulsi garland from the victim’s neck and asked for religious conversion. The victim says that the accused continuously threatened her.
Accused arrested, investigation continues
The police have arrested the accused Tanjeer Inamdar and have sent him to police custody till April 22. The lawyer of the accused side says that there was a love affair between the two and the allegations made are baseless.
Police have registered the case and started further action including medical examination. All aspects of the entire matter are being investigated.
