Rajamouli released the teaser of the film on social media and captioned it, “Amarendra Bahubali’s death was not the end…it was the beginning of something eternal.” Along with this, he has also attached the teasers of all three versions of the film (Hindi, Tamil and Telugu). It is also told that ‘Baahubali: The Eternal War Part 1’ will be released in 2027.

Earlier, there were speculations that with the recently released ‘Baahubali: The Epic’, S.S. Rajamouli can announce ‘Bahubali 3’. But the filmmaker himself had denied this. In an interview with Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, Rajamouli had said, “We are releasing the teaser of ‘Baahubali: The Eternal War’. There is a rumor that we are announcing ‘Baahubali 3’. But it is not true. This is a continuation of the world of Baahubali. It is an animated film. We have released a 2D animated show on Amazon and it is going to be a 3D animation.”

According to Rajamouli, the new story of ‘Baahubali’ has become possible due to the efforts of producer Shobu. He says, “Producer Shobu was constantly looking for ways to take this universe beyond ‘Bahubali 3’. He met the talented animation director Ishaan Shukla, who gave him an idea to take the story forward. The characters are the same, but the direction is completely different. I liked the idea. They have been working on this project for almost two and a half years and the budget of this film is around Rs 120 crores.”
