Clean chit to Arshdeep, action against Bumrah-Rauf

In this match, no evidence of indiscipline was found against India’s Arshdeep Singh, due to which he got a clean chit. In the final match between India and Pakistan on 28 September, Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was warned and given 1 demerit point for copying Rauf’s jet gesture and Haris Rauf was found guilty again and action of 30% fine, 2 demerit points was taken on him.

Controversy increases over Haris Rauf’s plane gesture

Haris Rauf was in the headlines many times during the Asia Cup. When the Indian fans chanted Kohli-Kohli, Rauf responded by making a ‘6-0’ gesture, which was reminiscent of Virat Kohli’s two sixes in the 2022 T20 World Cup. After this he made a plane gesture, which was considered a political signal against India on social media. After this video went viral, ICC started investigation against Rauf under Code of Conduct Article 2.21.

Pakistan’s opener Sahibzada Farhan made a gun-like gesture to fire the shot after completing his fifty against India. While some fans called it celebratory, many called it insensitive and provocative. The ICC considered it unsupportive behavior and warned him and gave him one demerit point.
