Permission for demonstration received from Delhi Police

CJP said that he has received permission from Delhi Police to protest. This protest will be organized at Jantar Mantar at 1 pm. The major demands of the organization include the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET exam controversy and other exam-related issues. This demonstration on June 20 will be the second major movement of CJP in Delhi. Earlier on June 6 also, protests were held at Jantar Mantar. Apart from this, the organization has also demonstrated in many cities including Pune, Lucknow, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Jaipur. The organization says that this campaign will continue to ensure transparency and accountability in the examination system.

What is the symbolic message of the plate and spoon?

The appeal to bring plates and spoons is being linked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal in March 2020, when during the Covid-19 pandemic, he urged people to clap and bang utensils in honor of health workers and frontline workers. At that time, the Prime Minister had asked people to come to their balcony, terrace or window at 5 pm and express their gratitude to the Corona warriors by clapping and playing thali for five minutes. Now CJP is preparing to put forward its displeasure and demands using the same symbol.

Demand for compensation from Prime Minister Modi

Abhijit Dipke has also demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to pay a compensation of Rs 1 crore to the families of the students who allegedly died by suicide amid the examination controversies. He said that accountability for these incidents should be fixed and the affected families should get financial assistance.

Repeated demand for resignation of Education Minister

Deepke once again reiterated the demand for removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan from the post. He says that when the future of lakhs of students is being affected, then it is necessary to fix accountability. He said that the organization has been demanding the resignation of the Education Minister for the last one month and for this purpose demonstrations are being held across the country.

Concern expressed over the mental condition of students

In his letter, Deepke said that a serious crisis has arisen before the students of the country. They claim that 11 students have committed suicide in recent weeks, with five cases reported in the last 48 hours. He said that the cancellation of the examination, fear of re-examination and uncertainty about the future have further increased the mental pressure of the students.

Education loan and problems of families

Dipke said that many families have taken huge education loans for the education of their children. In such a situation, examination controversies are affecting not only the students but the entire family. He demanded immediate financial assistance from the Central Government to the affected families. CJP says that removing the Education Minister will not be a sign of weakness of the government but of its commitment towards accountability. According to Dipke, if action is not taken against those responsible, the trust of students and parents in the education system may further weaken.
