In Coimbatore, a student sitting in a car with her boyfriend was kidnapped and gang-raped by three people. Police have arrested 3 daily wage labor accused after the firing. The victim is admitted in the hospital.
Coimbatore. A post-graduate student who had gone out with her boyfriend was gang-raped. When she was in a car with her friend, miscreants stopped her car, attacked her boyfriend and took him to a secluded place and gang-raped her. He has been admitted to the hospital. This incident happened in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on Sunday night. The 20-year-old student was in the car with her boyfriend when they parked the car at Vrindavan Nagar, behind the Coimbatore airport, around 10:30 pm on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, three miscreants who came on a moped broke the windshield of the car. They then attacked the girl’s boyfriend, threatened him, made him sit on his moped and took him to a deserted place about a kilometer away. A police officer said that there all three gang-raped her one by one.
The scoundrels came on a stolen moped
The boyfriend of the girl who was injured in the attack called the Peelamedu police and informed them about the incident. After this, the police started searching for the girl at around 11 pm. The police found the girl at around 4 in the morning. By then the criminals had fled from the spot. According to the police, he had used a stolen moped for this incident. A police officer said that the victim has been admitted to a private hospital in the city.
Three suspects arrested: The accused were daily wage laborers
Taking action in this case, the police arrested three suspects after the firing on Monday night. The arrested people have been identified as Satish, Guna and Karthik. All the accused are residents of Madurai district and worked as daily wage labourers. He lived in a rented room in Coimbatore. The police have admitted all three to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for medical examination and have not shared any further information about the accused. Police sources said that due to low light the CCTV cameras of that area could not capture their faces properly.

The gangrape victim, also a resident of Madurai, was studying in Coimbatore, where she lived in a hostel. He is shocked and his friend is stable. City Police Commissioner A Saravana Sundar said, ‘We have formed seven special teams to nab the criminals.’ An official said that to identify the suspects, the police showed photographs of more than 60 criminals to the victim, but she was unable to identify the attackers. The women’s wing of AIADMK has announced a protest against incidents of rape and violence against women. BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan visited the spot along with party workers on Monday evening.
