He said that I saw how brilliantly you were bowling even under pressure. The whole of Himachal is proud of you. The CM also shared that this was the first women’s cricket match that she watched in full. Renuka’s performance in the semi-finals and final particularly impressed him. During the phone conversation, though Renuka’s voice was not clear, it appeared that she requested the Chief Minister for a government job. On this, Chief Minister Sukhu replied, yes, I will definitely do it. You have met me before, now let’s talk together. Be happy first, I think you just woke up, thanks.
Renuka’s story of struggle
Renuka, a resident of Parsa village of Rohru tehsil, despite her difficult circumstances, made it to the Indian women’s cricket team with hard work and dedication. Renuka’s mother Sunita Thakur narrated the story of struggle behind her daughter’s success. He told that in the initial days Renuka’s salary was only Rs 1,500. Due to financial constraints, he had to borrow Rs 15,000 to buy cricket shoes. Despite this, Renuka never gave up and made her father’s dreams come true. His father’s dream was that a member of the family should play in the Indian cricket team. Renuka fulfilled this dream. Renuka’s mother Sunita Thakur said in an interview that the government should honor her daughter by giving her a permanent government job, because she has brought glory not only to the state but also to the entire country.
