Vaikuntha Chaturdashi worship method

On the day of Vaikuntha Chaturdashi, wake up in the morning at Brahmamuhurta, take bath, wear clean clothes and take a pledge to fast. Meditate on Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva by lighting lamps in the house and temple. Before sunrise, anoint Shiva Linga with water, milk and Belpatra and chant Om Namah Shivay. Donate a lamp in the evening while observing devotion and silence throughout the day.

Worship Lord Vishnu in the Nishit Muhurta of the night, offer Abhishek with Panchamrit, lotus flowers and Tulsi leaves and also chant the mantra Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya. It is especially considered auspicious to offer Belpatra to Vishnu and Tulsi to Shiva on this day. This day is a symbol of Shiva-Vishnu unity and the practice of salvation. However, on normal days, Tulsi is considered prohibited in the worship of Lord Shiva and Belpatra in the worship of Lord Vishnu.
