A tragic accident took place in Chotpur Colony, Noida, where two brothers died of suffocation after the plate of the safety tank of their house broke. The police removed the bodies of both and sent them for post-mortem. The neighbor was taken to the hospital in an unconscious condition during the rescue.
A heart-wrenching incident came to light in Sector-63 police station area of Gautam Buddha Nagar district on Friday. In Chotpur Colony, the slab of the safety tank built inside the house suddenly broke, due to which two real brothers fell into it. Both of them died on the spot due to suffocation, while the neighbor who tried to save them also fell unconscious.
The slab broke and there was a commotion in the house.
On Friday afternoon, information was received on dial 112 that two people have fallen into the safety tank in Chotpur Colony. On information, Sector-63 police station team immediately reached the spot. It was told that repair work was going on on the slab of the house. Meanwhile, the slab broke and both the brothers fell into the safety tank below.

Both brothers used to work as carpenters.
The deceased have been identified as Chandrabhan (40 years) and Raju (26 years). Both were originally residents of Bulandshahr district and lived with their family in a house they had purchased in Chotpur Colony, Noida. According to the police, both the brothers worked as carpenters in Khoda area and used to run their family through hard labour.
The neighbor who went to save him also became unconscious due to suffocation
As soon as elder brother Chandrabhan fell into the tank, younger brother Raju immediately tried to get down to save him, but he too got trapped due to suffocation due to the poisonous gas present inside. Neighbor Hemant’s son Prem Singh also reached to save both of them, but he too fell unconscious. Local people immediately informed the police and fire brigade.
Bodies were cut with a cutter and sent for post-mortem.
Seeing the seriousness of the incident, the rescue team cut the floor of the tank with the help of a cutter and took out the two brothers. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, but the doctors declared him dead. Hemant’s treatment is continuing in the hospital and his condition is currently said to be stable.
Police took charge of the situation, chaos in the family
The station in-charge said that the Panchnama of the dead bodies has been filled and sent for post-mortem. Peace has been maintained at the spot and necessary legal action is being taken. According to police sources, the level of poisonous gas in the tank was very high at the time of the accident, due to which all three people became unconscious.
The entire locality is saddened by this tragic accident. Local residents said that Chandrabhan and Raju were hardworking and friendly. People say that the administration should run an awareness campaign regarding cleaning and maintenance of safety tanks so that such incidents do not happen again.
