Matikala Board aims to provide long-term economic empowerment to artisans through training, design development, branding and modern marketing techniques. In the coming years, income and efficiency of artisans will be further increased through consumer based programs.
Traditional art is being preserved due to the initiative of Yogi government
Yogi government formed Uttar Pradesh Matikala Board for social security, economic strength and technical development of traditional artisans and craftsmen. With this step thousands of families have got a new basis for self-reliance. Giving relief to the Matikala artisans of Prajapati community, the government has made arrangements to extract soil from the village ponds free of cost. This made availability of raw materials easier and reduced costs. This shows that the government is serious towards giving global recognition to traditional art through modern marketing and innovation.
Artisans are getting direct market and increasing brand value.
General Manager of Matikala Board said that with the support of Yogi government and the efforts of the board, artisans have got the opportunity to connect directly with consumers. Buyers at the fairs enthusiastically embraced local crafts and traditional products. This not only increased the income of the artisans but also strengthened the brand value of Matikala products. In the coming years, the scope of these fairs will be further expanded so that the clay products of Uttar Pradesh can reach the national and international markets.
