Delhi-NCR Weather: Heavy rain swept through several parts of Delhi-NCR on Friday, providing much-needed relief from the ongoing heat and high humidity levels. The unexpected downpour helped lower temperatures and made the atmosphere more comfortable for residents after days of muggy weather.

The Indian Meteorological Department reported light to moderate rainfall across various localities, which helped ease the oppressive humidity that had been lingering in the region. With the monsoon gradually gaining strength, such showers are expected to become more frequent in the coming days.
Despite the rain, heavy traffic was reported on major roads in Delhi-NCR on Friday night, as many people began travelling ahead of the Raksha Bandhan weekend. The Delhi Traffic Police issued advisories cautioning commuters of potential congestion on key highways, particularly on National Highway-44 and near the Singhu border. Travelers heading towards Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, and Chandigarh were advised to anticipate delays and consider alternate routes.
On Friday, before the rain set in, the national capital experienced a maximum temperature of 36.2 degrees C, which was 2 degrees above the seasonal average. The minimum temperature hovered around 26.8 degrees C, just marginally below normal. Humidity levels, which had been high, ranged from 50 to 77 percent, making the rain all the more welcome.
