How many types of maneuvers are there?
Before reaching the reason for the maneuvers, let us know how many types of maneuvers there are. In fact, there are many types of war practice. The first is domestic maneuver. In this, different armies of the same country conduct exercises separately or jointly. After this there are bilateral exercises, in which the armies of two countries practice. Apart from this, there are multilateral exercises, in which armies of many countries practice together. Indian armies also take part in such exercises from time to time. Maneuvers are very important from time to time. Let us know the five main reasons due to which war is practiced.

5 big reasons why military exercises are necessary?
1- To test coordination in the army
Through war practice, an army tests the coordination between its own units or different military forces. Besides this, the fighting capability is also tested. In this, soldiers experience war-like situations and discover their strengths as well as their weaknesses, so that necessary improvements can be made. Maneuvers are conducted at different places, so that coordination between army units or different armies can be tested in different environments at different places.
This time, in the Trishul exercise, special attention is being given to means like water, land and air as well as space and drones. The role of space and drones has now increased in war. Therefore, there is emphasis on integrated operations of the three armies, firepower against enemy targets and multi-domain warfare. That means war exercises are taking place on many fronts simultaneously.
2- Testing of weapons
During war exercises, armies test their soldiers as well as their weapons. Since now new technologies and weapons are being used in war every day. Therefore, entire exercise is being done on the same lines. In this exercise, the Indian Army is testing many new and indigenous weapons and hi-tech systems. These include tanks like T-90s and Arjun, artillery, attack helicopters Apache and heavy helicopters.
Technologies such as drone interception and destruction systems, communication jamming devices and automated spectrum monitoring systems are also being evaluated and tested. Under this, the Army tested the integration of drones and anti-drone operations in a real war-like situation in the desert. In this, the Sudarshan Chakra Corps of the Army has also practiced the delivery and arrangement of goods under the name Sudarshan Capability.

3-Strong message to the enemy
Another purpose of war drills is to give a strong message to the enemy. Through Operation Sindoor, India not only destroyed the bases of terrorism operating on Pakistan’s soil, it also gave a message that India is not going to remain silent now. Even after this, India has been giving the message that Operation Sindoor has only been stopped, not completely stopped.
Now, through military exercises, an attempt is being made to give the same message to the enemy countries that they should not try to look towards India. That is why during the maneuvers, emphasis is laid on coordination among military forces and testing of weapons as well as demonstration. This can weaken the will of the enemy country to fight without any reason.
4-Promotion of cooperation between friendly countries
If the exercise is taking place between the armies of two or more countries, then obviously it will be between the friendly countries. In such a situation, exercises are also done to create coordination between the armies of different countries, so that in any unavoidable situation, if the armies of these countries have to support each other, then no mistake is made due to lack of coordination. Joint exercises between two or more countries promote better coordination between them. This facilitates relief operations not only during war but also during disasters etc.
5- Preparing for the future
The most important reason for war practice is preparation for the future. To be prepared for any sudden attack, exercises are conducted from time to time, so that the forces remain fully prepared. The weapons should remain functional and the people operating them should be trained. This is the reason why even on normal days, soldiers of the armed forces do not leave their drill. Therefore, through war practice, soldiers are prepared to develop strategic thinking along with fighting, so that in any unavoidable situation, they can formulate the strategy and implement it on their own.
