Hyderabad software employee dies by suicide after alleged domestic dispute

A 30-year-old software employee died by suicide at her apartment in Nallagandla, Hyderabad, following an argument with her husband. The Chandanagar police are investigating the case after the victim’s family alleged abetment against her spouse.

Hyderabad: A software employee died by suicide by hanging in her house in Chandanagar on Tuesday night. Police suspect she was upset after an argument with her husband over a trivial matter and ended her life.

Aruna Shivaji Patil (30), a native of Kolhapur in Maharashtra was working in an IT firm in the city and stayed with her husband Nilesh, also a software employee in an apartment in Nallagandla.

According to the police, Aruna married Nilesh in March 2023. After marriage they shifted to Hyderabad in January 2025 for job purpose and were staying at Aparna Cyber Commune in Nallagandla since June.

“The couple had been having differences between them and often had fights over trivial matters. The elders from both sides had earlier intervened and tried to sort out issues, but nothing worked out,” police said.

After one such argument, Aruna hanged herself from the ceiling fan with a scarf in her bedroom and ended her life. Aruna’s family alleged Nilesh was responsible for her death. The Chandanagar police are investigating.
