The Election Commission of India of Friday dismissed claims that the electoral rolls of many states have been removed from the official website following the press conference by Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi.
Reacting to the claims, the poll body said that all electoral data remains accessible and downloadable. In a post on social media platform X, the poll body shared a screenshot of an X handle post claiming that ECI “has removed E-Voter rolls of “many states from its website overnight”.
With the screenshot, the poll body wrote “This is a Fake News”. The EC further added, Anyone can download the Electoral Roll for any of 36 States/UTs through this link: https://voters.eci.gov.in/download-eroll”.

The Election Commission and Rahul Gandhi have been at loggerheads after the latter accused the poll body of rigging the general elections in 2024 to benefit the BJP. During the press conference, he presented an analysis of Mahadevapura assembly segment of Karnataka’s Central Bengaluru Lok Sabha constitunecy. He alleged that over 1 lakh ‘fake votes’ wer created there.
The Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer quickly responded with a demand of enclosed declaration or oath, along with the electoral irregularity data from Gandhi. Since then, Gandhi has deflected to furnish an affidavit on oath. Meanwhile, the state Chief Electoral Officiers of Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra have also asked the Congress MP to furninsh similar affidavit.
