This was not a catch, it was the World Cup
The catch of Amanjot Kaur taken in the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup was exactly the same as the catch taken by Kapil Dev of Viv Richards in the 1983 Men’s ODI World Cup. And in the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup, Suryakumar Yadav defeated David Miller. With Kapil’s catch, India ended its wait for the title win in the Men’s ODI World Cup. With Suryakumar Yadav’s catch, India’s 11-year long wait of not winning the ICC Trophy ended and now with the help of Amanjot’s catch, India’s women’s cricket team’s wait to win the ODI World Cup has ended.
