England’s ones to watch as Lionesses head to Switzerland for Euro 2025 title

With the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 kicking off, all eyes are on the Lionesses who will be representing the country intending to bring the trophy back home. England’s team is filled with a lot of talent, but these players have been named as the ones to watch.

The Women’s Euros will kick off on July 2, 2025, with the final match being on July 27, 2025. The Lionesses will be facing France (July 5), the Netherlands (July 9, and Wales (July 13). England won their first Euro trophy in 2022, winning 2-1 against Germany. The team are now on their way to Switzerlandto represent and help England achieve the European championship.

Georgia Stanway, 26, is an attacking midfielder for both Bayern Munich and England’s national team. She represented the country various times, including as a captain at the Women’s Under-17 team, making her senior debut in 2018. She also scored against Norway and Spain during the Euro 2022.

In January 2025, Georgia suffered a lateral collateral ligament tear in her right knee during a training session with her team, Bayern Munich. According to the Daily Mail, she underwent surgery in hopes to recover before the Euro 2025 tournament. Good news, she will be wearing the number eight shirt as the Lionesses head to Switzerland.

Newcomer Michelle Agyemang made quite the entrance. Born in England, she’s of Ghanaian descent. Playing for the Arsenal club since the age of six, she signed her first professional contract with Arsenal Women in May 2024.

She received the call to join the Lionesses two days before her infamous goal against Belgium in April 2025, replacing Alessia Russo, who got injured during the match. Michelle has also been aconsistent goal scorer for England, for both WU17 (Women’s Under-17) and WU19 (Women’s Under-19) levels.

According to England Football, Michelle has scored a total of 10 goals in her football career so far. They include three goals in the Women’s Super League, one in the Women’s FA Cup, one in the FA Women’s League Cup, and one in the UEFA Women’s Nations League A. She also scored four goals for England’s Women Under-17 team at the 2022 Women’s U17 Euros.
