Baida OTT Release: Baida, which was directed by Puneet Sharma and starred Sudhanshu Rai had its theatrical premiere on March 21. The film’s mind-bending storyline twists attracted a lot of attention. The first-of-its-kind sci-fi supernatural thriller, opened to mixed reviews during its theatrical run, is now available for rent on Prime Video. The movie also featured acclaimed TV actors Hiten Tejwani and Sourabh Raaj Jain.
Baida, which is set in a secluded community that has been afflicted by a string of unexplained disappearances, tells the story of a man who is dragged into a reality that is beyond reason. After arriving in a rural Uttar Pradesh village, the story’s protagonist, a former spy finds himself encircled by evil forces and under the control of a shadowy person known as Pisaach. He appears to be taken to a another reality, and his sense of reality starts to falter. Together with the locals, he sets out on a perilous quest to avoid dying and the alluring allure of an enigmatic cabin tucked away in the middle of the forest.
He added,”This will pave the way for a new kind of cinema where independent filmmakers like us can experiment and explore stories that interest today’s generation. It will also position us as one of the few who have dared to step into a genre that most Indian filmmakers usually avoid.”

The filmmaker spoke about the low reception of the horror movie at the box office. He shared, “Baida was always made for a niche audience that enjoys time travel, parallel worlds, and unique, unexplored themes. In fact, it’s one of the few Indian films to receive detailed explainer videos on YouTube and other platforms, gaining millions of views. Despite not having a popular star cast, the film stands out for its engaging storytelling—something that now reaches even more people as it becomes available to rent on Prime Video.”
