Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Utkarsh Abhiyan, started with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given a new direction to the expansion of health services in tribal areas. Under this, 6 new Mobile Medical Units (MMU) were flagged off from the Chief Minister’s residence by the Health Department.
Tribal districts will get new benefits of health services
Under this initiative of National Health Mission and Public Health and Medical Education Department, Madhya Pradesh, 4 tribal dominated districts of the state – Alirajpur, Dhar, Jhabua and Khandwa – will get the benefit of 6 new mobile medical units.
The Chief Minister said that already 66 mobile units are being operated in 21 districts under the Pradhan Mantri Tribal Tribal Justice Maha Abhiyan (PM Jan-Man). After the addition of new units, now a total of 72 mobile medical units will be operational in the state.
Health facilities will reach every tribal village
Chief Minister Yadav said that now no tribal person will be deprived of medical facilities through mobile medical units. With the help of these units, services will reach even such villages where there is no permanent hospital within a radius of 10 kilometers. These mobile units will have facilities like free consultation, medicine delivery, maternal and child health services, vaccination, Aabha ID creation, and modern physiotherapy equipment.
Special investigation facilities and public awareness campaign
Facilities for sickle cell anemia, sugar and other pathology tests will also be provided in these mobile units. Besides, various public awareness activities will also be organized to make the villagers health conscious. This initiative is an important step towards the overall and balanced development of the remote tribal areas of the state.
