When should one circumambulate 84 Kos?

Mainly circumambulation of 84 Kos should be done in Chaturmas and Adhikamas only. It is said so, but this parikrama has special significance even in the months of Chaitra and Vaishakh. Parikrama Yatra is performed once a year from Chaitra Purnima to Baisakh Purnima. Even after Vijaya Dashami in the month of Ashwin, some people start parikrama.

According to their respective beliefs, Shaiva and Vaishnav communities revolve around 84 Kos at different times. 84 Kos circumambulation can be done in two ways: on foot and by vehicle.
