Shaligram Stotra Path: The festival of Tulsi Vivah symbolizes the union of Lord Vishnu and Mother Tulsi, and worshiping Lord Shaligram on this occasion is especially fruitful. Today, on 2nd November 2025, on the day of Tulsi Vivah, reciting Shri Shaligram Stotra gives eternal virtue.
This stotra is described in the Bhavishya Purana as a dialogue between Shri Krishna and Yudhishthira. By chanting it, even great sins like Brahmahatya are destroyed, untimely death is averted, all diseases are cured and one attains Vishnuloka. Reciting this stotra at the time of Tulsi marriage in the twilight increases the results of the marriage tenfold. During the puja, light a ghee lamp in front of Shaligram, offer Tulsi Dal and recite this stotra 1, 3 or 11 times along with the mantra ‘Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevay’.

What is the benefit of this source?
Yudhishthir asks Lord Krishna what is the best worship of the gods. Shri Krishna tells that there is Shaligram, an area ten yojanas south of the Himalayas on the north bank of the Gandaki River, where the confluence of Shaligram and Dwarka Shila gives salvation. The water of Shaligram rock is sinless, drinking its fruit prevents untimely death and diseases. Water swirled in a conch burns sins like Brahmahatya. By eating Vishnu’s naivedya, one gets the results of thousands of yagyas, and by drinking foot water mixed with Tulsi, one gets the virtue of millions of yagyas.
There is no defect even in a broken Shaligram, there is no need for mantra-pilgrimage in its worship. By worshiping Shaligram, all the sins of mind, speech and body are quickly destroyed. Different incarnations reside in Shaligram of different colors and shapes – Vasudev in Krishna color, Narasimha in yellow, Damodar form in Shankha Chakra. Umbrella shape gives kingdom, round shape gives wealth, flat shape gives sorrow. The point of Shaligram destroys millions of murders, and by reciting its stotra one attains Vishnuloka. By drinking Padodaka the sins of millions of births are destroyed.
Method of recitation on Tulsi Vivah
After Tulsi Vivah puja, sit in front of Shaligram and recite this stotra. First chant ‘Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevay’ 11 times. Light a ghee lamp and offer Tulsi leaves. At the end of the recitation, salute by saying ‘Om Shaligramaya Namah’. If you recite it with your family, the virtue is doubled. Unmarried girls should recite this and pray for a good groom. With this stotra, Vishnu’s grace resides in the house and the fruit of Tulsi marriage becomes everlasting.
