Is There A Reserve Day For India Vs South Africa Women’s World Cup Final?

India are all set to take on South Africa in the all-important final of the Women’s World Cup 2025 on November 2 (Sunday) at the Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

However, before the Women in Blue face the tough test from Laura Wolvaardt and her team, the first obstacle that they are facing is the torrential rainfall at the venue. The rain has been such that the toss has been delayed and the ground has been covered. This has put the chances of the game happening at all in doubt.

However fans need not worry if not a single over is bowled on November 2 at Navi Mumbai. According to the ICC rules, they have had a reserve day for the final. If the match is washed out on Sunday, then it will be held on November 3 (Monday).

What Is The Cut-Off Time For Match To Begin

The ICC rules state that the semi-fina and final can be held in full if there is a delay of two hours. Hence, if the match begins by 5 PM, then no overs will be deducted, and there will be a full 50 overs-a-side match. If the match begins after that then overs will start to be deducted.

The least number of pvers that are required to be bowled are 20 overs a side. For that to happen, the match must begin at 9.08 PM. If the match does not take place even then, then it will shift to the reserve day.

Navi Mumbai Weather Report

According to Accuweather.com, there is a 50-58% chance of rainfall till 6 PM on Sunday. The chances of rain then reduced drastically to 20%. Hence, in all probability we will get a match on Sunday itself, but it may be delayed and overs will be reduced.
