There are many ancient temples in India. All these temples are famous all over the world due to their mysteries and miracles. One such mysterious temple is in Andhra Pradesh. This is a Shiva temple, which is located in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.
The name of this temple is Shri Yaganti Umamaheshwar Temple. The size of the Nandi idol in this temple is continuously increasing. Till now no one has been able to find out the secret behind the increasing size of this statue.
Not only people, but scientists also say that the size of the Nandi statue here increases by one inch every 20 years. If Nandi continues to grow like this, the pillars in the temple will have to be removed one by one. It is believed that when Kaliyuga ends, the form of this huge Nandi statue will come alive. There will be a great disaster on that day. After that Kaliyuga will end.
This temple is built according to Vaishnav traditions. It was built in the 15th century by King Harihar Bukka Raya of the Sangam dynasty of the Vijayanagara Empire. It reflects the traditions of the ancient Pallava, Chola, Chalukya and Vijayanagara rulers. There is a famous legend about the construction of this temple. It is said that this Shiva temple was established by Maharishi Agastya.
Then Lord Shiva appeared and said that this place looks like Kailash. Therefore, it is right to build his temple here. After this, Maharishi Agastya requested Shiva to give darshan to the devotees in the form of Uma Maheshwar in a single stone. Lord Shiva agreed to this. Here devotees worship him in the form of Ardhanarishwar.
Crows are never seen anywhere near this temple. It is said that this happened due to the curse of Maharishi Agastya. According to the Puranas, when Maharishi Agastya was meditating, crows were disturbing him. Therefore, he became angry and cursed the crows so that they should not be seen here.
