Bihar Assembly Election: A delegation of foreign diplomats from several countries, including Japan, Australia, and the United Kingdom, have been invited by the BJP to observe its poll campaign for the Bihar Assembly Election and India’s democratic process.
Why BJP invited foreign diplomats to Bihar?
According to the BJP, the delegation, which also includes diplomats from Indonesia, Denmark, Bhutan and South Africa, arrived in Bihar on Sunday for a two-day visit, where they will be familiarized with the saffron party’s functioning. In a statement, BJP’s foreign affairs department in-charge Vijay Chauthaiwale said the visit comes under the party’s ‘Know BJP’ initiative, launched by its National president J P Nadda.
“The visit under the ‘Know BJP’ initiative, launched by party president J P Nadda, is to familiarise the diplomats with the functioning, outreach and organisational strength of the BJP, as well as to provide an on-ground understanding of India’s electoral engagement at the grassroots level,” Chauthaiwale said, adding the delegation will interact with senior party leaders, observe campaign activities and visit key constituencies during their two-day trip to the poll-bound state.
Notably, similar delegations had earlier visited Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan during the assembly elections in the states to experience the BJP’s election management and campaign practices.
