UP Congress State President Ajay Rai is in the news these days. Recently, he made a controversial comment on RSS, after which he started being criticized. Meanwhile, a statement of Ajay Rai is going viral on social media, in which he is seen praising BJP’s founding member and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Atal ji made me a minister after fighting – Ajay Rai
Ajay Rai was talking to a YouTube news channel. He told that in 2002, Atal ji had fought and made me a minister. Ajay Rai said that in 2002, when the BSP-BJP coalition government was formed, I was asked to become a minister. Ajay Rai said that my name was proposed from Raj Bhavan but after that I got information early in the morning on the day of oath taking that the Principal Secretary to the Governor called me.
Ajay Rai said, “When I went to him, he said that your name has come by mistake, not you but MLA from West Bharatendu Singh was to take oath as a minister. I told the Principal Secretary that you are an employee of the Governor, I will talk to him directly.”
Ajay Rai further says, “After this I went to Raj Bhavan and met him. Lal ji Tandon ji was also sitting there. I told him that earlier he told me that I would take oath as a minister but now a letter is being asked from me. Then Lal ji Tandon tried to turn the matter around but I was of a stubborn nature.”
‘That was Atal ji’s BJP’
After this Ajay Rai tells that I came back after giving a proposal to the Governor and Atal ji came to know about this. He said that Atal ji was the Prime Minister of the country. According to Ajay Rai, Atal ji again said that do one thing, increase the number of cabinet by one from BSP quota and get Ajay Rai also sworn in. Ajay Rai said, “This shows Atal ji’s heart and how big a party the BJP was at that time, but it was Atal ji’s BJP.”
