Barabanki Fake Mustard Oil Racket: Fake mustard oil and Tata salt -making factory was busted in the draft, Barabanki. In the raids of police and food departments, fake products of expired oil, fake salt and famous brands were recovered, the campus started by sealing the campus.
Fake products factory in up: Prior to Rakshabandhan, administrative action has been intensified to curb adulterated and fake goods in the market. In this sequence, a large fake product construction gang was exposed in the draft area of Tehsil Nawabganj on Thursday. The joint team of the police station draft police and the Food Safety Department raided the premises of the rich Farmer Producer Company Limited and recovered a huge amount of fake goods. Here open mustard oil was being sold in Patanjali and Fortune brand bottles.
Expedited oil and fake salt game
The investigation revealed the shocking that expired mustard oil was also being packed in new bottles and sent to the market. The team received about 5 quintals of open salt, which was being sold in a packet of Tata salt. Local brand wrands like Teja and Best were also recovered from the spot, which were being torn into the Tata brand. The Food Department stored all the samples of salt and seized the remaining stock.

Fake products of famous brands also recovered, unlicensed factory, immediately sealed
Fake wrappers, filled and empty bottles of popular products such as Harpy, Favicol, Danti toothpaste and Everuth face cream were also found in large quantities during the raid. The person present on the occasion called his name Manoj Kumar Verma resident draft, but the investigation revealed that this factory was being operated by Chauri Chaura, Gorakhpur, resident of Ravi Chaurasia.
No food license or registration was found in the campus at the time of raid. Due to this, the entire factory was sealed, stopping the food business on the spot. The representative of the company lodged a complaint of copyright violation at the police station draft.
Details of seized goods:
- 75 liters open mustard oil (₹ 11,250)
- 30 liters of oil by the name Patanjali (₹ 4,500)
- 525 kg open salt (₹ 10,000)
- 492 kg salt (₹ 15,000) named Tata
The value of the total seizure was estimated to be around ₹ 41,000.
Assistant Commissioner Food Dr. Shailendra Pratap Singh said that under this campaign, 2 samples of Peda and Sonpapadi, Nigoha Pul Kursi Road in Tehsil Fatehpur, and 3 samples of gram flour laddus, cheese and peda from Babaganj have also been stored for examination. All samples have been sent to the laboratory and strict legal action will be taken against the culprits after the report.
