OpenAI launches ChatGPT 5 with PhD-level knowledge and advanced coding skills

 OpenAI is come up with its new GPT 5 AI model, on Thursday during the live stream, The new model already geared up as the default in ChatGPT, replacing GPT-4o, OpenAI o3, OpenAI o4-mini, GPT-4.1, and GPT-4.5 for signed-in users. According to OpenAI, it is better than the previous versions in performance standards, the new GPT comes along with code-editing accuracy by scoring 74.9% on SWE-bench Verified and achieving a record 88% on Aider polyglot.

According to their blog post, OpenAI is going to introduce GPT-5 in three different variants, and they are GPT-5, GPT-5-mini, and GPT-5-nano, which  allows users to choose the right balance between performance, cost, and speed.

Sam Altman about indian market

It is said by Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, that India could soon overtake the United States to become the company’s largest market. Describing India as an incredibly fast growing hub for Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption, he also praised the speed of adapting Artificial Intelligence  in businesses that are embracing the technology.

In a  media briefing, he says, India is our second-largest market in the world after the US, and it may well become our largest. Altman also confirmed that OpenAI has come up with a plan to work with  local partners to enhance AI tools for India and make them more affordable. He added that he plans to visit the country in September.

What’s new in GPT5

OpenAI is geared up with sets of new  features for GPT-5, which allows users to get more personalisation and smarter interactions. Now users have an option  to choose a custom chat colour, GPT-5 will also introduce four built in tools like Cynic, Robot, Listener, and Nerd allowing users to change AI’s tone, whether they prefer it sarcastic, supportive, or straight to the point. The users with subscribers will soon be able to connect Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts directly to ChatGPT, for better productivity and  management without leaving the chat.

It also came up with an important Voice capabilities upgrade. The new Advanced Voice feature can understand the user’s tone of voice and adapt responses in real time. However it is available to all users, higher usage limits will be reserved for paid plans. According to OpenAI the older Standard Voice Mode will be shut down within the next 30 days.

ChatGPT 5 availability and pricing

ChatGPT 5 is geared up with  three tiers Mini, Regular, and Pro. The Regular plan is the standard option, which is accessible to both free and paid users. If the user passes the usage limit, the Mini version automatically kicks in. For the users who want top tier capabilities and best performance, for  them the Pro plan is available at $200 per month. Starting today, the previous GPT version  becomes GPT5 the default model for all signed-in users, with a global rollout now underway.
