New Delhi: Actor Huma Qureshi’s cousin Asif was killed after a parking row in Delhi’s Nizammudin area. The murder reportedly happened late Thursday night in southeast Delhi’s Bhogal area.
Victim stabbed by 2 teenagers
According to a report, the man identified as Asif Qureshi was attacked with a sharp object, after a heated argument. The 2 attackers, who are teenagers, have been arrested by the police.
Qureshi, a resident of Church Lane in Bhogal sustained grievous injuries to his chest after being stabbed multiple times by the teenagers. The police said that the attack took place after Qureshi confronted a man for parking a scooter in front of his house. The attack took place at around 10:30 pm on Thursday, they added.
The argument reportedly escalated and the man was attacked with a “poker type” object, said officials. He suffered a deep wound to his chest.
Police said that the victim collapsed at the spot and was rished to a nearby hospital.However doctors at the facility declared him dead on arrival.
Case filed, 2 arrested
Following Qureshi’s death, the police registered a complaint under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The complaint was filed at the Hazrat Nizamuddin Police Station.
The 2 accused who have now been arrested, were identified as 19-year-old Ujjwal and Gautam, 18. They are both residents of the same locality. They live just a few houses away from the victim’s house in Church Lane.
Both the accused were taken into custody soon after the incident. Investigations are on to determine the sequence of events which led to the attack. Police are also trying to determine the role each of them played in the attack.
Qureshi’s body has been sent for post mortem.
