Uttarakhand Weather Forecast: The monsoon is currently active throughout North India, particularly in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Torrential rain has wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand, claiming the lives of five people and leaving several missing. However, there is no sight for relief from heavy rain as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in multiple districts of Uttarakhand, including flood-ravaged Uttarkashi district. A yellow alert for heavy rain is in place till August 11, warning residents of possible landslides and cloudbursts.
Uttarakhand Weather: Heavy Rains, Thunderstorms To Continue Till Aug 11
Uttarakhand has been experiencing heavy downpours for the past few days. Similar weather patterns are expected to continue till August 11. According to the latest forecast by IMD, several districts of Uttarakhand, including Uttarkashi, Nainital, Almora, Chamoli, Dehradun, and Pithoragarh, are likely to experience heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Other districts are expected to receive moderate rainfall with chances of one or two spells of heavy showers.

The maximum and minimum temperatures will remain around 27 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius throughout this week. Rainy weather conditions will continue over the weekend.
In view of the yellow alert for heavy rain in Uttarakhand, the authorities are on high alert. The administration has advised residents to limit outdoor activities and follow official weather updates to avoid inconvenience caused by torrential rain.
Uttarakhand Rain Havoc: Kedarnath Yatra Halted Amid Monsoon Showers
Due to continuous spells of heavy rainfall and blocked roads across the state, the pilgrimage to the three Dhams has been halted for a while. The pilgrimage to Kedarnath, Badrinath and Gangotri Dham has been halted, and no pilgrims are allowed to move to the shrine. Only small vehicles are allowed to go towards the Yamunotri Dham.
