No Smoking Sequel: John Abraham has always been known for choosing roles that push boundaries, and now he’s setting his sights on a sequel to one of his most talked-about films No Smoking. The 2007 psychological thriller, directed by Anurag Kashyap, received mixed reactions when it first released, largely due to its complex and abstract storyline. However, over time, the film has gained a loyal cult following. The Tehran actor, in a recent interview, revealed that he’s been encouraging Anurag Kashyap to make a part two.
John Abraham, in a recent chat with India Today revealed, “I always told this to Anurag.” John said, “People usually make sequels of hit films. But let’s make a No Smoking part two. I’ve been telling him this for the past four-five years.” While the original film may not have been a box office success, John believes in its creative value. He shared how deeply he admires Kashyap’s vision and praised his recent film Bandar, calling Bobby Deol’s performance “unbelievable” and the film itself “disturbing” in the best possible way. “Anurag’s made such a brilliant film,” he added.
Additionally, the 52-year-old actor isn’t bothered by the fear of failure either. “People are scared of failure. I’m not. My success has been defined by my failures,” he remarked, showing his confidence in his unique career choices.
