After a long wait of 25 years, the state got its permanent, modern and grand assembly building. This occasion was very historic and proud in the silver jubilee year of state building.

At the inauguration ceremony, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that this building is a symbol of democratic traditions. He expressed hope that there will be meaningful discussion on bills and issues of public interest. This building will further strengthen the foundation of democracy.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that today is a historic day for Chhattisgarh, the maternal birthplace of Lord Shri Ram and the land of Mother Kaushalya. He said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee created the state and now Prime Minister Modi is working to beautify it. The state government has been busy fulfilling “Modi’s Guarantee” for the last two years.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that this building will become a symbol of pride of Chhattisgarh. It is made from 80% indigenous material. The building has furniture and doors made of teak wood from Bastar. Paddy ears have been decorated on the roof of the house, which reflects the agricultural culture of the state.

The new assembly building is not just a building, but a symbol of the culture, tradition and faith of Chhattisgarh. After 25 years, the state has got this permanent building, which has a wonderful blend of modern facilities and traditional crafts.

The architecture of the building beautifully captures the identity of Chhattisgarh, known as the “Rice Bowl”. The doors and furniture are made by the craftsmen of Bastar. This building is a living example of modernity and tradition.
- Smart building built keeping future needs in mind
This building is completely technically equipped. It has the facility of paperless system, digital voting and expansion up to a capacity of 200 members in future. It has been designed as “Smart Assembly”.
- Complex spread over 51 acres built at a cost of Rs 324 crore
The new assembly complex is spread over an area of 51 acres and has cost Rs 324 crore. It is divided into three parts—Wing-A (Secretariat), Wing-B (House and Central Hall) and Wing-C (Ministry Offices).
- Eco-friendly building constructed with green technology
To make the building eco-friendly, a solar plant and two ponds have been built for rain water harvesting. Green technology has been used in the construction so that this building becomes an example of environmental protection.
- Modern auditorium and central hall facilities
The building has a 500-seat state-of-the-art auditorium and a 200-seat central hall. Its design is a beautiful blend of traditional and modern architectural styles.
