According to weather experts, moderate to heavy rain may occur in many areas between 5 pm and 7 pm. During this time, the wind speed is likely to reach 50 to 80 kilometers per hour, due to which the temperature will drop and people will get relief from the heat.
There may be heavy rain for 30 to 45 minutes
The Meteorological Department says that the rainy season will not be the same in every area. At some places, heavy rain may be seen for 30 to 45 minutes. There may also be thunderstorms and strong winds. Although the official entry of southwest monsoon has not yet taken place in Delhi-NCR, the weather is continuously changing due to pre-monsoon activities. There is a possibility of rain in many parts of Punjab and Haryana for the next two days.
Rained two days ago, humidity returned again
People had got some relief after the rain in the capital during the last two days, but on June 17, due to strong sunlight, the sultry heat again troubled them. According to the Meteorological Department data, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38.1 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 23.8 degrees Celsius. During this period, maximum humidity was 85 percent and minimum humidity was 51 percent. About 3 mm of rain was recorded in Delhi in the last 24 hours.
The weather will remain like this for the next few days
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, cloud movement may persist in Delhi-NCR for the next few days. Light rain, drizzle and strong winds are likely to continue. On Thursday, the maximum temperature may remain between 37 to 39 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature may remain between 25 to 27 degrees Celsius. Dusty winds may also blow in some areas, whose speed can reach up to 50 kilometers per hour.
AQI in ‘moderate’ category
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s average air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 132 on Thursday morning, which falls in the ‘moderate’ category. Whereas in Faridabad, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Noida and Greater Noida, AQI was recorded between 100 to 200. At present, the Meteorological Department is keeping an eye on western disturbances and pre-monsoon activities. In such a situation, people of Delhi-NCR may see a mixed effect of both heat and rain for the next few days.
