Nirjala Ekadashi 2026: Ekadashi is considered a very auspicious date in Sanatan Dharma. There are a total of 24 Ekadashis in a year. There are 26 Ekadashis in Adhikamas, but Nirjala Ekadashi is considered to be the most special among them. This Ekadashi falls every year on the Ekadashi day of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month. This year the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi is going to be observed on 25th June. This is considered to be the biggest and most difficult Ekadashi fast.
This is because even water is not consumed on the day of Nirjala Ekadashi. There is a religious belief that by observing this one fast, one gets the virtuous results of all the Ekadashi fasts. According to mythological beliefs, Pandu’s son Bhima observed this fast to get the virtuous results of all Ekadashi fasts. Therefore it is also called Bhimseni Ekadashi. This year Nirjala Ekadashi will be under the influence of Bhadra. Let us know whether this will affect the worship also?
Bhadra will remain in the underworld on Nirjala Ekadashi.
According to the Panchang, Bhadra will start at 07.08 am on 25th June i.e. the day of Nirjala Ekadashi. This will last till 08:09 pm. However, astrologers say that on this day Bhadra will reside in the underworld. Therefore, there will be no hindrance in fasting, worship and worship of Lord Vishnu and all spiritual works can be done in auspicious times.
Auspicious time of Nirjala Ekadashi 2026
On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, Brahma Muhurta will be from 04:05 am to 04:45 am. Abhijeet Muhurta will be from 11:56 am to 12:52 pm.
Nirjala Ekadashi will fall in four auspicious coincidences
This time Nirjala Ekadashi will be celebrated with many special auspicious yogas. According to astrological calculations, on this day Ravi Yoga will be from 05.25 am in the morning to 04.29 pm in the evening. Shiv Yoga will last from 10.22 am for the whole day. Siddha Yoga will last throughout the day from 10.53 am. Apart from this, the fourth and most important coincidence will be on Thursday on Nirjala Ekadashi. The importance of fasting on Nirjala Ekadashi has increased further due to the rare combination of Ekadashi and Thursday, because both these days are dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
