Vice President C.P. in Kashi Radhakrishnan and CM Yogi inaugurated the Rs 60 crore Dharamshala of Sri Kashi Natakottai Sanstha. The Vice President said that religion always wins and Kashi is today being spiritually reborn under the leadership of Modi-Yogi.
Varanasi. Kashi once again witnessed a wonderful confluence of faith, culture and unity. On Friday, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan inaugurated the new Dharamshala building constructed by Sri Kasi Nathakottai Sanstha in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This modern Dharamshala has been built at a cost of Rs 60 crore, which will further deepen the ancient cultural ties of Tamil and Kashi.
Religion always triumphs: Vice President CP Radhakrishnan
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Vice President Radhakrishnan said that “Religion never faces permanent crisis, it is always victorious.” He said that this new Dharamshala is a symbol of the victory of that religion. He told that “When I came to Kashi 25 years ago, I was a non-vegetarian, but after bathing in the Ganga, there was a big change in my life and I adopted vegetarianism.”

Radhakrishnan said that there is a lot of difference between the Kashi of 25 years ago and the Kashi of today. “This change has been possible only because of two Karmayogis – Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,” he said. He said that wherever Natkottai group is active, service, religion and progress move forward together. This Dharamshala is not just a building but a symbol of cultural unity of North and South India.
Unbreakable relation between Tamil and Kashi
The Vice President said that Tamil pundits, poets and devotees have been coming to Kashi in search of knowledge for centuries. “Scholars like Kanwar Guru, Mahakavi Subramanya Bharati settled in Kashi. Kashi Tamil Sangamam further strengthened this relationship.” He said that “Kashi is identified by 72 thousand temples, the presence of Shiva in every particle and the echo of ‘Om Namah Shivay’.”
Natkottai Group: An example of service and dedication
Radhakrishnan told that this institution was established in 1863 for the convenience of the devotees coming to Kashi from Tamil Nadu. He said that “the ‘Shambho’ system did not stop even in the curfew of 1942. This group lives for others and leaves its mark wherever it goes – Singapore, Burma or Kashi.”
Kashi’s spiritual renaissance continues
The Vice President said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi, a spiritual and cultural renaissance is taking place in Kashi. He said, “Echoes of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ and ‘Ganga Maiya ki Jai’ are being heard everywhere.” He described the return of Annapurna Devi idol and events like Kasi-Tamil Sangamam as symbols of this change.
Steps towards green energy
He informed that 76 solar lamps have been installed in Dharamshala, which cost Rs 1.5 crore. It is a symbol of green energy and will save electricity worth about Rs 25 lakh every year.
