When to observe Devuthani Ekadashi fast?
It would be best to break the Devthani Ekadashi fast on Sunday, November 2, between 01:11 pm to 03:23 pm.
Fast-worship method of Devuthani Ekadashi fast
– Wake up early in the morning of Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi, take bath etc. and take a pledge of fasting and worship with water and rice in hand. Follow the rules of fasting throughout the day.
– Prepare for the puja before the auspicious time mentioned above and as soon as the auspicious time starts, install the picture of Lord Vishnu on a wooden board in a clean place in the house.
– Apply tilak on the picture of Lord Vishnu and garland it with flowers. Also light a lamp of pure ghee nearby. Offer things like Abeer, Gulal, Chandan etc. one each.
– After this, offer food to God and chant this mantra to wake him up from sleep –
Uttisthottistha Govind Tyaj Nidram Jagatpate.
Tvayi Supte Jagannath Jagat Suptam Bhavedidam.
Uttishthottishtha Varaha Danshtrodhritavasundhare.

– After reciting this mantra, perform aarti of Lord Vishnu as per the rituals and while offering flowers, chant this mantra-
Iyan Tu Dwadashi Dev Prabodhay Viminrita.
Tvayaiva sarvalokanaam hitartham sheshashayina.
Idam vratam maya dev kritam preetyai tav prabho.
न्युनम् समुर्णतां यात्व त्त्वप्रसादाजनार्दन।
– Do not sleep on the night of Devuthani Ekadashi. Sit near the place of worship and chant mantras or bhajans and kirtans. By observing fast in this way one gets relief from all kinds of troubles.
– Next day i.e. on 2nd November, Sunday, feed the Brahmins and send them off by giving them donations. Only after this, eat something yourself at the auspicious time mentioned above.
