A woman filed a complaint in the consumer court against the tailor for not receiving the blouse she had given to him for her wedding on time. Ahmedabad Court, while hearing the case, has imposed a fine of around Rs 7,000 on the tailor for deficiency in service.
Tailors often do not deliver stitched clothes on time. There can be many reasons for this, like work pressure, illness or laziness. Overall, almost everyone has the experience of not getting clothes on time. But here the court has imposed a fine of seven thousand rupees on a tailor for not delivering the blouse on time!

After this, the woman filed an application against the tailor in the Consumer Court of Ahmedabad. He complained that this delay caused him “mental distress”. The court took it seriously. Taylor again promised to give before the marriage, but did not fulfill it either.

Because of this, she had to wear a different blouse to the wedding. Angered by this, the woman approached the consumer court against the tailor. The court found the tailor guilty for delaying the blouse. Despite sending the notice, Taylor did not appear before the court. The committee held her guilty of “deficiency in service” for failing to provide the blouse. The court directed Taylor to return Rs 4,395 with 7 per cent annual interest and additional compensation for mental distress and litigation expenses, which totaled about Rs 7,000.
