Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed for the early construction of Naval Valor Museum in Lucknow. This museum will showcase the valor, technical capability and maritime pride of the Indian Navy. It will have INS Gomti, TU-142 aircraft and 7D theater attractions.
Naval Shaurya Museum: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath saw the presentation of the proposed ‘Naval Gallantry Museum’ in Lucknow in the review meeting of the Culture Department on Thursday (30 October) and gave instructions for its immediate construction. He said that this museum will become a symbol of bravery, valor and maritime power of the Indian Navy. The Chief Minister said that the sea has been the foundation of India’s civilization, and the Indian Navy is the modern expression of that glorious tradition. This museum to be built in Lucknow will be a medium to convey this pride to the public.
Museum will be built in the shape of a ship
It was informed in the meeting that the design of the museum will be in the abstract form of a ship. It will use ship railings, porthole windows, naval architecture and maritime symbols. The complex will have attractive features like Interpretation Centre, Central Deck, Open Air Memorial, Thematic Walkway, Exhibition Gallery, Fountain and Light-and-Sound Arena. The design has been kept energy-sensitive, using natural light, ventilation and green construction techniques.
Naval Museum will become ‘centre of experience’
Chief Minister Yogi said that this museum should not just be worth seeing but should become an “Experience Centre” where visitors can feel the history. He suggested that digital, interactive and immersive technologies be used so that people can directly experience the naval battles, operations and technological advancements. He also directed that information related to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj should also be included in the museum.
The project will be built in two main parts
It was told in the presentation that this project will be developed in two parts –
- INS Gomti Shaurya Smarak
- Naval Shaurya Vatika
INS Gomti (F-21) is an indigenous missile frigate of the Indian Navy, which served for 34 years. It participated in missions like ‘Operation Cactus’ and ‘Operation Parakram’. It will be preserved and displayed in the museum premises so that citizens and youth can see its bravery closely.
‘Navy Shaurya Vatika’ will become the center of attraction
The Chief Minister described Naval Shaurya Vatika as a special attraction of the project. It will showcase the Tu-142 aircraft, which has contributed to maritime surveillance and disaster relief for 29 years. Along with this, Sea King SK-42B helicopter will also be installed. Yogi Adityanath said that this garden will become an inspiring center to connect the youth with naval technology and operations.
7D theater and simulator will give exciting experience
The museum complex will have many modern and exciting features, including 7D Theatre, Aircraft Carrier Landing Simulator, Warship Simulator, Submerged Dwarka Model, Digital Water Screen Show and Marine Life Aquarium. Additionally, interactive galleries based on ‘Dress Like Your Heroes’, gallantry awards, historical naval operations and indigenous defense innovations will also be developed.
Committee will do monitoring and development work
A committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Director General Tourism, which includes Maritime Heritage Society, UP Projects Corporation and naval experts, to monitor the project. This committee will monitor the development, quality and timely completion of the project.
Lucknow will become the center of India’s maritime pride
The Chief Minister said that this project will give new life to the maritime pride and cultural consciousness in Uttar Pradesh. This museum will not only symbolize the valor of the Indian Navy but will also represent the Maritime Spirit of India. Yogi Adityanath expressed confidence that this museum will give a new identity to Uttar Pradesh on the national tourism map and will become a center of attraction for tourists from across the country.
