PM Modi promised to include Chhath in the UNESCO heritage list in the Muzaffarpur rally. He also announced to reward the artistes of Chhath song. Also accused Congress-RJD of insulting the festival.
PM Modi in Muzaffarpur: During the campaign for Bihar Assembly elections 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed a huge public meeting at Motipur Sugar Mill grounds in Muzaffarpur. Seeing the huge crowd gathered in this rally held immediately after the Chhath festival, the Prime Minister not only made a scathing attack on the Congress and RJD, but also made a big announcement to give global recognition to Chhath Puja and award the artists.
Effort to include Chhath in UNESCO heritage list
Prime Minister Modi started his address by expressing his gratitude towards the sweetness of Muzaffarpur and the people of Bihar. He stressed the importance of Chhath festival and said that his government is working towards making this great festival respected all over the world.
He said, “We consider Chhath Mahaparva as a festival of humanity and are continuously trying to get it included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. When the name of Chhath Puja will be recorded as a great heritage in the world, it will be a matter of pride for every Bihari and every Indian.”
Announcement of awarding Chhath artists
PM Modi made an important announcement appreciating the contribution of Chhath Puja songs and artists. He said, “When I do yoga, I listen to Chhath songs. Therefore, this time, whoever is an artist or singer of Chhath songs will be rewarded.” He said that it is his effort to ensure that the importance of this great festival reaches not only the country but every corner of the world.
Congress-RJD accused of ‘insulting Chhathi Maiya’
PM Modi also attacked the opposition in his speech and alleged that while on one hand he is busy in taking Chhath to the world stage, on the other hand parties like Congress and RJD are insulting this festival.
He said, “These Congress and RJD people are insulting Chhathi Maiya. Can anyone ever insult Chhathi Maiya to get votes in elections? Can Bihar, India and my mothers who observe Nirja fast tolerate such an insult?” The Prime Minister appealed to the public to respond to this insult in the elections.
Told the people of Bihar as ‘Master’
Highlighting the huge crowd that gathered in Muzaffarpur, PM Modi expressed his deep respect for the people of Bihar. He said, “My brothers and sisters of Bihar, my masters of Bihar, I am deeply indebted to you.”
He said that this huge crowd of people is telling that once again NDA government and good governance government is going to be formed. He charmed the people by comparing the dialect of the people there with the sweetness of litchi of Muzaffarpur. BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal, LJP state president and all NDA candidates were present on the stage.
