Instagram rolls out Friends Tab, Location Sharing, and Repost Tool for better engagement

 Instagram has come up with several new features aimed at bringing users closer to their friends and enhancing how they share content. One of the key features is a new Friends feature in Reels, which comes along with the ability to share locations via Instagram Maps and allows users to repost public posts and reels. With these updates it makes interactions more meaningful by focusing on the content that users and their friends engage with, enjoy, and talk about.

According to Instagram, these new updates come up with a goal to strengthen social connections on the platform. With the help of new tools the users can see what their friends are watching, discover local content more easily, and they can share it hassle free. 

Repost other creator Reels and Post

If you’re a creator then it’s a must know information for you, Instagram introduced a feature which allows others to repost your content while Instagram gives you the credit as an original creator. This new feature called Repost which allows users to share another person’s created content on their feed, which will make it easier to show your interest to your followers. The repost allows the content to be flow on your and feed and it will also be recommended on your friend and followers feed,. There is a separate tab on your Instagram profile , so you want to check the repost you can revisit and check them.

Keep up with friends using Instagram Maps

Instagram now lets you stay connected through its updated map feature. Users are allowed to share your recent active location with their friends and turn it off anytime they want. The map also allows users to view content from friends and favourite creators based on their fun or interesting places they’ve visited. Location sharing is completely optional and off until the user turns it on. The users  have full control over who can see their location.

Discover what your Friends are enjoying

Instagram has come up with a new feature called Friends, a new tab in Reels where users can view public content with which your friends have interacted, it comes along with  relatable content which is created by feeds you make together. This allows users to make their conversation simple and stay updated about your friends and followers. The Friends tab highlights the reels which users friends have engaged with or posting, which makes it easier to connect over shared content.

This  feature was launched by Instagram earlier this year and now launched globally. To turn off blending mode, tap on Reels. It also allows users to hide their own likes and comment on reels, and to mute activity bubbles from specific people you follow.
