In Bihar elections, BJP leader Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said that her party was asking for votes in return for work. He called Rahul Gandhi’s statement an insult to Chhath Maiya and accused Owaisi of snatching away the rights of poor Muslims.
Political rhetoric is at its peak in Bihar Assembly elections 2025. Countering the statements of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, former Union Minister and BJP leader Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti has strongly targeted. Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti clearly said that BJP has come to ask for votes in exchange for work, while the opposition is only giving political speeches.
Direct attack on Owaisi: ‘Don’t take away the rights of the poor’
Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti gave a strong reaction to Asaduddin Owaisi’s statement related to Muslim vote bank. He said that Owaisi should see the ground reality. Owaisi, just ask those people who are getting ration, who are getting housing, who are getting gas cylinders. Owaisi should at least not snatch away the rights of poor Muslims.
Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti claimed that BJP is asking for votes in the name of development. He said, “We have come to ask for votes in return for work. There is a world of difference between the Bihar of before 2005 and the Bihar of 2025. Where earlier it used to take 8 to 10 hours, whether you are Bhagalpur or Muzaffarpur, now the way to go there has become easier, this is the result of the double engine government.”
The sharpest attack on Rahul Gandhi, ‘Insult of Chhath Maiya’
Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi had said that he can even dance on stage to get votes. On this statement, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti described Rahul Gandhi’s thinking as a ‘fallen mentality’ and called it an insult not only to PM Modi but also to Chhath Maiya.
Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said, “The more Rahul Gandhi can insult the Prime Minister, the more people stand with him for Modi. Rahul Gandhi will think of a fallen mentality… He has not insulted Modi ji, he has insulted Chhath Maiya.”
Question on Sanatan and alliance
Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti also cornered Congress and its alliance partners on issues related to Sanatan Dharma. He said, “These are the same people who (come to the elections) wearing sacred thread over their kurta. This is the caste sentiment regarding Sanatan, because Sanatan is with those who call Sanatan dengue, malaria, coronavirus. They are the people of their alliance, their sentiment is the same.” He clarified that PM Modi and BJP leaders are the prime servants of the public, and they have no shame in praying or bowing to the public for democracy.
