He was practicing at the Valley Tew Reserve Ground in Ben Ferntree Street on Tuesday afternoon. During this time suddenly the ball hit his head and neck. Due to which he fell on the ground on the spot, when he was taken to the hospital, he died during treatment.
How did the 17 year old cricketer die?
According to reports, on Tuesday afternoon, Ben Austin was practicing batting in front of an automatic bowling machine at the Valley Tew Reserve Ground in Ben Ferntree Street. Then a ball hit the part between his head and neck, due to which he immediately fell on the ground. The ambulance and paramedical team immediately arrived at the spot and he was taken to Monash Medical Centre, where doctors tried to save him but he died on Wednesday.

After the death of Ben Austin, Ferntree Gully Cricket Club shared a post on social media on Thursday morning and wrote that we are very saddened by the death of Ben. The cricket club expressed condolences to his family and said that this loss can never be compensated.
