The temple was built in the 17th century

This temple was built in the 17th century by Venkoji, brother of Maratha king Shivaji. The walls, pillars and shikhara of the temple tell about its ancient grandeur. Shri Dakshinamukh Nandi Teerth Kalyani Kshetra is situated near the temple. According to local beliefs, the worship of Kadu Malleshwar Temple is not complete unless Nandi Tirtha is visited here.

Water stream performs Jalabhishek of Shivalinga

There is an ancient stone statue of Nandi Maharaj in this area. Clear and cool water continuously comes from Nandi ji’s mouth. This stream of water coming out from the mouth of Nandi ji falls directly on Shivling and automatically performs Jalabhishek. The surprising thing is that the source of this water has not been known till date. Scientists and researchers have tried to find out the origin of this water stream, but no one has been able to reach any concrete conclusion.

According to beliefs, every wish made with a true heart is fulfilled in this temple. On the occasion of Mahashivratri and Sawan, special religious events are organized in Kadu Malleshwar Temple and Nandi Teerth area. During this time lakhs of devotees reach the temple for darshan.
