Padma Awards: The country’s prestigious Padma Award ceremony was organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday, where many big personalities who contributed to arts, sports, social service, education and public life were honoured. There were many emotional moments during the ceremony, when late artists and people who made special contributions to the country were honored posthumously. This year, at the Padma Awards ceremony, the most talked about honors were given to late actor Dharmendra, women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur and advertising personality Piyush Pandey.
Dharmendra received Padma Vibhushan, family became emotional
At the beginning of the ceremony, President Draupadi Murmu posthumously awarded Padma Vibhushan to late actor Dharmendra. This honor was received by his wife and MP Hema Malini. During this, his daughter Ahana, who was present at the function, looked emotional and tears welled up in her eyes. This moment was considered one of the most emotional moments of the entire ceremony. Dharmendra was awarded the country’s second highest civilian honor for his decades-long contribution to Indian cinema and his acting legacy.

Harmanpreet Kaur received Padma Shri
Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur was honored with the Padma Shri award. Recently, under his captaincy, the Indian team created history by winning the ODI World Cup. This honor was given in view of his contribution to the sports world, aggressive batting and leadership abilities. Harmanpreet looked very excited during the ceremony.

Late Piyush Pandey awarded Padma Bhushan posthumously
Famous advertising expert Piyush Pandey, who gave a new identity to the Indian advertising world, was posthumously awarded Padma Bhushan. President Draupadi Murmu accepted this honor on behalf of her family. Piyush Pandey was known for his creative thinking and memorable campaigns in the Indian advertising industry. His contribution to the advertising world will be remembered for a long time.

These celebrities also got big honors
A total of 131 celebrities are to be given Padma awards this year. 66 people were honored in the first phase, while the remaining winners will be honored in the next phase. Prominent personalities who have received Padma Vibhushan include:
- Late actor Dharmendra
- Former Supreme Court judge Katie Thomas
- Communist leader and former Chief Minister of Kerala VS Achuthanandan
Apart from this, many social workers, academicians, sportspersons and industry personalities were also honored with Padma Awards.
