Lauria Assembly Elections 2025: Will BJP MLA Vinay Bihari, who has won Lauria Assembly constituency of West Champaran thrice, be able to win for the fourth time also? Or will the grand alliance shake the BJP’s fort with the help of Yadav-Muslim equation and local issues? The competition is very interesting.
Lauriya Assembly Election 2025: Lauria Assembly Election 2025 is an important seat of West Champaran district. The political history here has been full of ups and downs. This seat, which was once a stronghold of Congress, has been dominated by BJP and Vinay Bihari for the last three elections.
Vinay Bihari’s continuous victory
- Vinay Bihari, the famous lyricist and singer of Bhojpuri films, surprised everyone by winning the elections for the first time in 2010 as an independent candidate. He got 38,381 votes while JDU candidate Pradeep Singh got only 27,500 votes.
- Joining BJP in 2015, he got 57,351 votes and defeated RJD candidate Ran Kaushal Pratap Singh by 17,573 votes.
- The competition became more interesting in 2020. This time he secured 77,927 votes and defeated RJD’s Shambhu Tiwari, who got 48,923 votes.
Caste equations and local issues
Yadav and Muslim voters play a big role in Lauria seat. Apart from this, Koeri and Brahmin voters also remain in a decisive position. This is why maintaining caste balance in every election is a big challenge for the parties.
Here issues like education, unemployment, flood damage, debt and livelihood have been raised again and again.
Vinay Bihari’s property and criminal record
Vinay Bihari is a popular name, whose identity is associated with Bhojpuri cinema before politics. He has assets worth Rs 3.65 crores. There is a liability of Rs 980. Vinay Bihari, who has done post graduation, also has six criminal cases registered against him. On the other hand, there is a huge difference in wealth and background among the opposition candidates.
Challenge on Lauria assembly seat in 2025
Now the biggest question is whether BJP’s Vinay Bihari will maintain the record of victory for the fourth time also? Or will the new face of RJD and Grand Alliance create difficulties for them? It also has to be seen which way the Muslim and Yadav vote banks lean.
