When it comes to India’s powerful military technology, now the world is listening with head bowed and China’s profession is sure to be strengthened. Brazil has shown deep interest in India’s state -of -the -art Akash Missile System and Garuda Artillery Gun and now preparations for a big deal are in full swing. In such a situation, this defense cooperation will not only give a new height to India-Brazilian relations, but can also challenge China’s global dominance directly.

Interestingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Brazil at the BRICS summit next week and before that signs of military coordination between the two countries have created a stir in international strategic circles.

According to Kumaran, Brazil is not only interested in Akash missile and Garuda cannons, but it is also showing interest in secured communication systems, offshore patrol vessels (OPV), Scorpened submarines, and coastal monitoring systems with the help of India.

Brazil is keen to set up joint defense constructions with India. The possibilities of collaboration with Brazilian world famous aerospace company Ambreer are being searched. This will not only be an opportunity for India to promote defense exports, but can also open the way of stake in the global military production network.

Akash missile

Akash Air Defense System has been developed by DRDO. It is a medium-range supersonic missile, with a range of 25–45 km and the ability to hit up to 20 km. The Mach 2.5 -based missile system is capable of combating air threats such as fighter jets, drones and cruise missiles.

This system has also played an important role in Operation Sindoor, where it successfully thwarted drone and missile attacks by Pakistan.

Garuda Artillery Gun

The Garuda Artillery System is a state -of -the -art indigenous cannon, especially designed for coastal areas and rapid deployment. Its firepower and mobileity make it ideal for border areas.

China’s concern increased

China’s concerns are sure to increase with the possibilities of India-Brazil Defense Cooperation. China itself is a major arms exporter and has long been trying to sell military equipment to Latin America and developing countries.
