Iyer fell after being caught by Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey in the third ODI match played at the Sydney Cricket Ground. His spleen was injured in this accident and medical examination confirmed mild internal bleeding. Due to which he was admitted to Sydney hospital. Now a big update has come out on his surgery.

Now the good news is that Shreyas Iyer’s minor surgery for his spleen injury has been completed successfully and he has completely recovered. According to a report by Cricbuzz, his condition is completely stable and he has come out of the ICU. It was a minor surgery, but he has been advised to take rest for at least five days and maximum for a week. In such a situation, he will have to stay in the hospital for the next few days. Now that he is out of danger and on the path of recovery, cricket fans have heaved a sigh of relief.

According to reports, Iyer’s condition has improved rapidly. He has been shifted to the general ward and can soon return to his home completely fit.
