Police have registered a case against BJP MLA Ashok Kumar Rana and his son Priyankar Rana in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. It is alleged that 20 people including the MLA and his son have carried out arson and firing at the plant of GSR Company. At present, the police have arrested two accused involved in the incident. The police also recovered two revolvers, a large number of cartridges, three cans of petrol, kerosene and a Scorpio vehicle from them.
The incident took place at Shivala Kala police station. Here Ravindra Pundir, GM of GSR Infrastratech Private Limited Company, has registered a case against the Dhampur BJP MLA and his son, in which he has alleged that the MLA and twenty of his people opened fire at the Hotmix plant of his company, destroying machinery, dumpers and Trucks were set on fire. During this time, the watchman Mahipal Singh present at the spot was also assaulted.

The GM said that the MLA and his men had forcefully snatched away machinery from the plant twice before. The MLA and his people were pressurizing him for three months by demanding money. After this, he had also complained to the administrative officials of Noorpur, Shivala Kala police station as well as Bijnor. At around 2 am on the night of 30th April, about twenty people including Ashok Kumar Rana, Priyankar Rana vandalized the machines at the Hotmix plant and then set them on fire.

Apart from this, many motorcycles parked there were also set on fire. Seeing this, when the watchman stopped him from doing so, he shot the watchman in the stomach. The police reached the spot with great effort and controlled the fire but by then many vehicles were burnt. At present, the police reached the spot and have registered a case against 15 unknown people including Ashok Kumar Rana and his son Priyankar Rana. Also, Sandeep and Nardev, who were involved in arson and firing, have been arrested. Police have recovered weapons, cartridges, three canoes of petrol, kerosene and a Scorpio vehicle from both of them. In this case, Bijnor SSP Neeraj Kumar Jadaun said that arson and firing took place in the plant. At the same time, the watchman who was injured by the bullet is currently fine. The police team is investigating further.
