Uttarkashi Cloudburst Updates: Flash floods triggered after a deadly cloudburst in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district on Tuesday left a trail of destruction, in which four persons were killed and several people went missing. The floods swept away around 50 homes, shops, and roads, with several people yet to be traced. The authorities said two cloudbursts, one in Dharali and another in the Sukhi Top area, caused widespread damage.
Here Are The Latest Updates On The Uttarkashi Disaster
1. According to the Uttarakhand government, over 130 people have been rescued so far amid massive rescue and relief operations by led by the Indian Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), State Police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).

2. India Meteorological Department issued warnings for heavy rainfall across Uttarakhand, especially in the hill districts.
3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the people affected by this tragedy in Dharali, Uttarkashi. He spoke to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to take stock of the situation.

4. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also assured all necessary Central assistance and directed the deployment of NDRF and ITBP teams. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also spoke to his Uttarakhand counterpart and offered support.
5. CM Dhami has been coordinating relief and rescue efforts along with senior officials of the administration, police and others.
6. According to the authorities, officials are focusing on the restoration of basic services, along with the rescue operations. The electricity department and our Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam were working together there.
7. The government is set to seek help from the Indian Air Force. IAF’s Chinook, Mi-17 V5, ALH, and Cheetah helicopters were kept on standby at Chandigarh Air Base, ready to deploy with equipment and relief material as soon as weather conditions improve.
8. The Defence PRO said 11 security personnel were feared missing after the disaster. The team continues to operate with unwavering determination.
9. Tehri Garhwal MP, Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, said the tragedy is “even bigger than the 2013 disaster” that claimed thousands of lives.
10. Senior IPS officers – IG SDRF Arun Mohan Joshi, IG Garhwal Rangi Rajiv Swaroop, Pradeep Kumar Rai, Amit Srivastava, Surjeet Singh Panwar, and Shweta Choubey, were leading the operation. They have been overseeing coordination and ground-level execution.
